The hotel is centrally located, only a few steps from the main train station, Zoologischer Garten, in the middle of Berlin's banking and financial district. Kurfurstendamm is near, as well as the elegant boutiques and shopping arcades located in the many side streets to this traditional street.
The medium size rooms are decorated with a lot of dark wooden furniture and brown fabrics. The rooms and bathrooms are in good condition.
The Grill is quite an original restaurant featuring wooden barrels on wooden shelves and little curios hanging from the ceiling. It has a wooden floor and furniture offering a rustic atmosphere. The main restaurant is again furnished in a dark brown color scheme. Large windows give plenty of light and offer a pleasant view of the hotel's garden.
The hotel is a modern building. The medium size lobby and reception area is furnished and decorated in dark brown but has been renovated recently with a new bar just next to reception.
The Berlin Excelsior is a first-class, high-rise modern hotel. The hotel has two restaurants, serving international cuisine. One of the restaurants serves pub style.
